The Hidden Colors Inside Every Flower
Have you ever really studied a flower? Not just admired the garden from across the yard, but stopped long enough to study a single bloom?
The first thing most of us notice is its color. We see a yellow daisy, a purple iris, or a pink rose and move on. But if you take a closer look, something surprising becomes apparent. That yellow flower might have touches of orange near its center. A purple petal may fade into deep blue along the edges. Tiny veins, specks, and shadows create layers of color that are easy to miss unless you slow down.
Nature is full of details that reveal themselves only to those willing to pause.
When I began designing Botanical Bliss, I didn’t want to create a piece that simply featured flowers. I wanted to capture the depth and complexity that real flowers possess. That’s why I paired real dried flowers with shimmering crushed opal. Just like the petals in a garden, the opal catches the light and reveals different colors from every angle.
In a world that often rushes from one thing to the next, taking a closer look can be surprisingly rewarding. Sometimes beauty isn’t found in something extraordinary. Sometimes it is hidden in details we’ve overlooked all along.
Every ring is handcrafted one at a time in my South Carolina studio. Because each piece uses natural materials, no two rings are exactly alike. Each one carries its own tiny variations, just like the flowers that inspired it.
Maybe that’s the real lesson flowers have been teaching us all along. The closer you look, the more beautiful they become.
